After months of traveling for training… I, Alfred Hsing finally participated in the 2007 US Wushu Team Trials. I can say that I am part of the US Team, though I am not on the representative A team.
Anyways, all my traveling and choices I made along the way were all decisions I am glad I made. I would go back and do it all again even knowing the result. These bonds and relationships I’ve built these past 5+ months will very likely be lasting memories and friendships that I maintain throughout my life especially because the ride has been physically and emotionally intense- all positive though of course.
So here is the product of my hard training up until July 14-16.
Changquan/Longfist
Jianshu/Straightsword
Qiangshu/Spear
Just watch out because I don’t give up.

I was also deducted for taking 5 steps in my sword form when the competitor before me took 7 steps and was deducted.. and then after I competed they said they made a mistake and GAVE him his points back and then took away my points. In 2007, I lost .45 for under-rotating my 540 outside. I promised myself I would not make that same mistake this time. I also said that I wouldn’t give up. It’s actually in my July 2007 post. [...]
